Open Space Concept Teichgraben

Studio Jauschneg was commissioned to create an open space concept for the historic area of the Teichgraben in Waidhofen an der Thaya. The aim is to preserve and develop the spatial qualities in mid and long term and to secure the Teichgraben near to the historical city center as a coherent ensemble of characteristic landscape and historical inventory. In addition to the preservation of the playground as a central open space element, the creation of additional uses should emphasize and further strengthen the already existing importance of the Teichgraben as a linear space for movement, but also promote its function as resting, recreational and play-related space for different age- and user groups.
