Waiting in the Garden
Many bus stops and train stations in Austria often only meet minimum requirements. They often have nothing more than a pole with a stop sign and a timetable. In order to make a public transport system attractive to passengers, however, it generally requires a high level of quality. Today, users often have several alternative mobility options (car, bicycle, public transport) at their disposal. Which means of transport are actually used for a particular route often depends on many factors (time budget, costs, information, comfort, quality, safety requirements, etc.). A factor not to be underestimated is also the starting point of a travel by public transport: the stop along with its equipment. bioHALT is a modular wooden bus-stop system for self-construction, which can be built and planted by residents themselves. The focus is on a simple cost-effective implementation in the sense of self-help.
